The ‘In-Service and Short Course’ is a new department which forms part of the SIT organisational structure since 2019. The aims of the department are; to open doors for upgrading knowledge and skills in specific areas, for personal development, and enabling learners to reach higher levels in their field of interest so that they can continue to play a significant role in the economic growth of the country.

The department offers In-Service training where learners follow training in different programmes varying from Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma level for a duration of 2 to 4 years on a part-time basis. Furthermore, the department offers ‘Short Courses’ for a short duration on Saturdays and after working hours during the week. All short courses are derived from our validated programmes by SQA. After completing a short course, the learner will receive a Credit Unit Certificate leading towards a qualification. The short course would be useful for Individuals who would like to venture in Entrepreneurship in the future..
